Malang Birding Tour is one of business services to promote birdwatching tour and conduct environmental education and conservation education to the local community in Malang and surrounding areas on an international scale. This idea arose because as we all know that maintaining a culture of birds or wildlife in Indonesia is still very high. Heru Cahyono started off as a birdwatcher based in East Java, especially in the area around Prigen–Pasuruan. Since then, he has chalked over 20 years of field experience with the birdlife and biodiversity of eastern Java. Heru graduated from the State University of Malang in 2011 with a degree in Biology. After learning much about the threats to wild birds and their habitats in Indonesia, Heru and his colleagues developed novel conservation initiatives that focused on ethnography and the local culture, which encouraged local hunters to give up hunting and participate in nature conservation. Besides bird conservation, Heru also runs Malang Birding Tour to promote ecotourism in East Java. Heru has written two books on the birdlife of the region, including the Field Guide to Raptors in East Java (in Indonesian) which was published by BKSDA JATIM in 2013 and is currently working on a new book "The Birds of Malang " and contributor for book of " The 100 Best Birdwatching Sites in Southeast Asia ". Now he is preparing to study and get the Master degree.
